Special pricing for holiday Featured Event listings
Visit NC is once again offering a special one-time discount on our most popular partner program: Featured Events. For events from now through New Year's Eve, we are offering Featured Event placements for a discounted price of $150 (normally $300).
Featured Events promote your destination to audiences on VisitNC.com for a 60-day window. As part of this offer, your event will be part of a new, dedicated webpage and email newsletter that Visit NC will send to its database of more than 175,000 email subscribers ahead of the Thanksgiving weekend.
North Carolina has many incredible winter events taking place across the state, and we look forward to helping you create awareness and generate visitation to each of them with this one-time discount on Featured Events.
This special promotion isn’t limited to one Featured Event either, as you can take advantage of this special rate for each event you’d like to showcase. However, the event must take place before the end of this year. Should you have questions or need more details, email the partner program team at vncpartnerprograms@luquire.com.
Visit NC launching recovery campaign next week
The NC General Assembly allocated $5 million to Visit NC through the NC Department of Commerce to promote Western NC tourism recovery for “a targeted media campaign aimed at encouraging both in-state and out-of-state tourists to return to the region.” Visit NC will be launching its recovery campaign next week.
Visit NC continues to update its Western NC Travel Update webpage and interactive map
to showcase areas that are reopening to visitation and show ways for travelers to reach them. This map is updated as conditions change.
As the Western NC Travel Advisory webpage remains active, if tourism partners have updates on closures or openings, major event news or properties offering discounts to those displaced by the storm, please send that information to alert@visitnc.com. These efforts will be added to Visit NC’s communications as appropriate.

‘This Lesser-known North Carolina City Has Beautiful Hikes, a Lively Downtown, and the World's Largest Natural Habitat Zoo’
Travel + Leisure spotlighted Asheboro in its “This Lesser-known North Carolina City Has Beautiful Hikes, a Lively Downtown, and the World's Largest Natural Habitat Zoo
.” The article explained, in part, “Located in North Carolina's Piedmont Triad region, the city of Asheboro has a wild side. It's home to the world’s largest natural habitat zoo – one of the most popular attractions in the state – as well as lots of outdoor activities, including hiking Purgatory Mountain; the trailhead can be found near the zoo entrance.... But outdoor exploration is only part of Asheboro's appeal. Visitors can make their way downtown to shop, eat, and enjoy the growing nightlife.”
‘Charlotte's Food Scene Is a Sports Fans' Dream’
For its “Charlotte's Food Scene Is a Sports Fans' Dream
,” Food & Wine provided an “insider's guide to sports bars, pubs, a brewery, and more destinations for football fans to score a taste of Charlotte.” The articled noted, in part, “Tailgate or not, a true football game day in Charlotte would be remiss without at least one stop for a beer and a bite to pre-game, post-game, or just game. And this city has a plethora – a possibly disproportionate amount – of places that can provide just that. Charlotte’s got breezy patios for the laid back fan, sardine-packed dive bars for the die-hard, sceney breweries for the bandwagoner, and brunches for the girly-pop (or anyone fueling up).”
