Save the date for the 2025 Visit NC Tourism Conference
Save the date for next year's Visit NC Tourism Conference in Hickory, April 6-8, 2025. The conference brings together more than 500 professionals to discuss the latest trends and issues facing the tourism industry and hear insights from other tourism industry professionals. This year’s Visit NC Tourism Conference brought nearly 520 attendees to Greenville, so stay tuned to NewsLink, as information will be shared closer to next year’s conference.
Visit NC’s monthly webinar for April will discuss promoting outdoors for all abilities and address the challenges and opportunities related to accessibility in the outdoors. This webinar will help serve as an introduction to the Outdoor NC Accessible Outdoors Program. It also will offer a sneak peak of the recent statewide trail assessment and provide participants the chance to hear about additional program tools that will be rolling out soon. NCTIA’s silent auction raises funds for TEFNC during Visit NC Tourism Conference
NCTIA’s silent auction during the Visit NC Tourism Conference last week raised $6,000 for the Tourism Education Foundation of North Carolina. The silent auction featured items from 40 DMOs and destinations that proved popular with conference attendees. The auction proceeds are designated toward academic scholarships and continuing education programs for North Carolina's tourism industry professionals and students. The objective is to enhance the industry by developing knowledgeable, dynamic and enlightened leadership.
April issue offers “Signs of Spring”
April brings the “Signs of Spring” for Our State magazine. “Restaurant” highlights Strong Arm Baking Co. in Oxford; “Quirky Detour visits Fields of the Wood in Murphy; and “Festival” highlights the Grifton Shad Festival in Grifton. The April issue is available now.
For the week of March 28, "North Carolina Weekend” repeats the episode “Relax and Renew,” that originally aired last December. Featured segments include a Wilmington day trip; Saint Paul Mountain Farm and also Horse Shoe Farm in Hendersonville; The Visual and Performing Arts Center in Charlotte; and Oh’ Calcutta in Winston-Salem.
